Micro Insurance for Aquaculture
Several attempts have been made by the government of Indonesia to improve the welfare of fish farmers. Among other things, the improve is to minimizing the impact of fish farming business risks, such as natural disasters or disease attacks by providing insurance for fish cultivation businesses.
The fisheries insurance program in aquaculture sector is the commitment of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) to protect fish farmers, as mandated in UU No. 7 of 2016 concerning Protection and Empowerment of Fishermen, Fish and Salt Farmers.
