Indonesia's Four Key Achievements Presented at the AIS Forum 2022

Indonesia explained its achievements while working with maritime countries at the AIS Forum. This was stated by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves) in Bali, Tuesday (12/6/2022). Indonesia is the host of the forum and feels an honor when presenting the results of this real progress.


First, the completion of the Blue Economy Development Index which is useful to inform and guide us in developing a blue economy.

Second, Indonesia has conducted entrepreneurship training in Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Samoa and Vanuatu.

Third, Indonesia has hosted more than 200 knowledge sharing, training and technical assistance sessions.

Fourth, the AIS Startup Hub setup which has facilitated the engagement of over 1,000 startups, to connect the private sector and has enabled savings of USD 2.8 million for low-income customers.

“We have also conducted joint research and capacity building programs for our youth, assisting more than 300 future marine leaders. Then every month, the "Ending Plastic Pollution Innovation Challenge" program has reduced 200 million marine plastic waste and replaced 125,000 plastic food containers with sustainable alternatives," said Luhut Panjaitan at the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the Island and Archipelago State Forum (AIS Forum 2022).

So far, said Luhut, the AIS Forum Secretariat has assisted participating countries in implementing extraordinary collaboration programs in 31 island and archipelago countries. For this reason, Luhut is sure that the 47 countries that are members of the AIS Forum will bring real results and positive changes.
