In the past, this snake was a topic of conversation among outdoor adventurers.
Because some said that the venom of this snake does not threaten humans. On the other hand, some said, this snake is deadly.
But in the end, all outdoor adventurers and reptile lovers finally agreed that the picung snake (Rhabdophis subminiatus) is a deadly venomous snake for humans.
According to the General Chairperson of Exalos Indonesia, Janu Widodo, this snake is capable of killing people with the power of its venom that causes blood clotting in the deadly area.
Even volunteers from Exalos Indonesia Regional Solo, Central Java, and FKPB Kerjo District have to carry out very carefully to handle this snake.
It was the house of Mr. Supardi, a resident of Sumberejo Village, Kerjo District, Karanganyar Regency, which was infiltrated by a snake that had fangs on the back of its jaw.
"Rhabdopis subminiatus, a special snake. Uniquely, even though it has back fangs, it is categorized as a highly venomous snake," said Janu Widodo.
Another uniqueness of this snake is that, in addition to being venomous, it also has poison in its neck that will come out when threatened.
This poison is also dangerous for humans who catch it without tools.
When it comes into contact with the hand, the poison can also threaten a person's life. "So, this snake is venomous and poisonous. It has two dangers at once."
