For people of Java, this being is not considered a strange thing. They called it "Lare Angon" from generation to generation.

But that did not include the recent generation, a Gen Z. Many Gen Z don't know about this Lare Angon because they are drawn by their technological lifestyle.

Lare Angon is so familiar, especially for the ear of those who often waste their time playing in the field of nature.

Even so, this snake was rarely found in the human habitat, like in the house or neighborhood.

There is a unique thing about this snake, because by myth, previous people believed that this snake is a couple for any newborn babies. Many believe that it's an incarnation of a guardian. "Perhaps, it is called "Lare Angon" which could mean in Bahasa Indonesia as a shepherd of a child," said The Exalos Indonesia founder, Janu Widodo.

But there is also another version of meaning, that Lare Angon means the snake who often captured by a duck shepherd kid. They play the snake like it's a toy.

But behind all that, the positive value of this harmless snake is, they are an infrequent act of killing this snake, making a good thing for the ecosystem's stability.

Remember, the snake is a predator of pests, and all at once it's prey of all beings above the snake.

The real local name of Lare Angon is Kisik Snake or Xenochrophis vittatus in a scientific name, a low-venom snake.

It's a semi-aquatic snake, with a maximum length of 70 cm. It has a special character by its morphology, whose color is black and followed by a stretched white or golden line from its head.

This snake spread in many areas in Indonesia, mainly in Sumatra and Java. And also, this rarely shown snake could be an indicator of the preserved nature.
