Information circulating among the public mentions a telegram issued by the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), numbered TR/283/2026, which instructs military units to raise their alert level in anticipation of escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The telegram reportedly contains a “Standby Instruction 1” directive addressed to all TNI units.

According to the document, one of the instructions requires the Commander of the TNI Main Operations Command to place personnel and primary weapons systems under heightened readiness. Units are also instructed to conduct patrols at vital strategic locations and major economic centers.

These locations include airports, seaports and river ports, railway stations, bus terminals, and offices of the state electricity company, PLN.

When contacted by reporters regarding the circulating telegram, the Head of the Information Center at TNI Headquarters, Brigadier General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, did not directly address the document.

Instead, he stated that the TNI continues to carry out its duties professionally while maintaining operational readiness.

“The TNI carries out its duties professionally and responsively, which is demonstrated by continuously maintaining its capabilities and strength to ensure operational readiness and readiness to anticipate developments in the international, regional, and national strategic environment,” Aulia said.

He delivered the statement to the Indonesian national news agency ANTARA on Saturday, March 8, 2026.

Aulia added that one of the routine efforts to strengthen national defense preparedness is the regular holding of troop roll calls to assess operational readiness.
